How to get rid of cellulite – 5 easy ways

Everyone desires to have the perfect body with no cellulite at all. 

Cellulite seems to be one of those problems that plague many women these days. However ghastly you find it, it is important to mention that cellulite is perfectly natural, especially for women.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), over 2.6 million cosmetic surgery procedures were carried out in the U.S. alone in 2019 — including over 265,000 liposuction procedures, many of which were performed to remove cellulite. Cellulite removal procedures are growing in popularity as more and more people struggle to maintain a healthy weight.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the dimpled-looking skin that commonly occurs in the thigh region. It forms when fatty tissue deep in the skin pushes up against connective tissue.

Healthy diet

Maintaining a healthy body fat sometimes is the only way to reduce cellulite or prevent its formation. Add more foods that contain vitamins and antioxidants, hydrating and rich in proteins foods. 

Wondering if drinking lots of water is that important for reducing cellulite? Yes! Water keeps skin hydrated and helps flush out toxic compounds. Aim to drink 8–10 glasses of fresh water daily. Well-hydrated skin looks more even, with less of a lumpy, dry, or aged look.

Avoid these foods:

Sugary and salty foods. Sugar causes fluid retention, inflammation, and storage of body fat — all of which can increase the appearance of cellulite. Read labels, and aim to reduce or remove added sugar. Limit your sodium intake as well, because salt is one of the main causes of water retention.

Refined flour. Make sure to cut refined flour products off your diet, because they are high in calories and break down quickly into sugar, which may worsen the appearance of cellulite. 

Consider collagen

Connective tissue – including the layers of the skin – is comprised of collagen. When the skin is healthy, cellulite’s appearance is diminished.

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body and is needed for skin’s elasticity, youthful texture, and strength. One of the best ways to get more collagen is from consuming bone broth, which also has amino acids like glutamine.

Get moving. It is one of the best treatments. It won’t make your cellulite disappear, but strong muscles under lumpy areas can make your skin look more even. Try a three-part plan: a healthy diet, brisk exercise, and moves that tone your muscles. 


One hopeful remedy is massage. Massage may reduce cellulite by improving lymphatic drainage. It can also help stretch your skin tissue, which may help stretch out cellulite appearance, too.
